Chapter One :Chapter 1

"Drip!"

The sharp sound of an instrument prompted Julissa Brisman to muster her remaining strength to open her eyes. Seeing the familiar man, credited to the overdose of painkillers perhaps, Julissa's eyelids trembled and then slowly closed, without dismissing him as she had imagined.

Cerillo Harvey's face was stern, but the movement of his hands was not devoid of the gentleness of his strokes on her hair.

Only in times like these, when she could not resist, would she not mind seeing him. During normal times, she definitely would not want to see him again.

When the vehicle exploded, Julissa thought she was done for.

But God seemed to be toying with her. She did not die but lost half her body instead.

Everything below her pelvis was amputated. Even excreting had become a problem.

Her soon-to-be husband, whom she had exhausted tremendous effort to please, did not even glance at her. He refused to even cover her medical bills, let alone take her home.

Julissa wanted to die, but she did not even have the strength to take her own life.

She could not live, could not die, and could not speak.

Her life was reduced to a pile of rotten flesh.

When Cerillo arrived, his body was trembling, and his eyes were bloodshot.

Julissa thought that this might be anger.

After all, even though Cerillo hated her so much, he had always held her dearly in his hands.

Julissa was brought back to the manor. Cerillo carefully placed her on his bed. Julissa could not hold on any longer and passed out.

Cerillo stared crazily at his unconscious ex-wife, all his emotions finally translating into a light kiss.

"Happy birthday, honey."

"I regret it, I shouldn't have let you go those years ago to be with that man."

"Can you give me another chance? Should we get remarried?"

Unfortunately, Julissa was already unconscious on the bed, unaware of anything.

At that moment, footsteps came from the doorway. "Master Cerillo, Garvit Harvey and the young lady's imposter have been brought."

Cerillo's gaze grew even colder. "Bring them in."

"Yes."

When Julissa woke up, it was to the sound of screams.

Following the sound, she saw a woman covered in blood with her limbs gone, barely hanging onto life as she laid on the ground.

This was the woman who had stolen 20 years of her life, Mooresa Brisman.

In truth, Julissa was the rightful lady of the Brisman family, but was switched at birth by a criminal, henceforth Mooresa became the lady of the Brisman family while she was reduced to a mere beggar.

It took a great effort for her to return to the Brisman family, begging for their care, but all of the family members treated her with indifference.

Mooresa was like a mighty swan, while she was just the earth trampled underfoot.

Seeing Julissa, a spark of intense hatred flashed in the eyes of the barely conscious Mooresa.

Cerillo saw this and ordered, "Gouge out her eyes."

"No!" Garvit could not believe it.

Had Cerillo gone mad?

He could actually do such a crazy thing for a woman!

Garvit roared like a dying beast, "Cerillo, for this woman, you can go to this extent. Have you gone mad? If Dad finds out, you'll die a terrible death. I advise you to stop now or you won't have a way out of this!"

Cerillo sneered, "Don't worry, it'll be your turn soon."

His subordinates took orders, and after a while, a woman's heart-wrenching scream echoed.

Blood splattered all over the ground. Garvit mournfully screamed, "No!"

Julissa felt only sorrow.

This was her fiancé whom she had deeply loved!

In his heart, there was always only Mooresa!

Yet, for him, she had given up everything she had, including her son.

Cerillo was quite dissatisfied with their gazes. He furrowed his brows and kicked Garvit directly into the pool.

Julissa was startled for a moment, but all she could feel was a sense of catharsis.

Cerillo's possessiveness was extremely strong. Even if it was his ex-wife that he did not want, he would not allow others to humiliate her.

Watching as the scumbag and the sl*t meet their death, Julissa could not hold on any longer. She felt herself growing colder and her vision becoming blurry.

As her heart stopped beating, Cerillo's calm demeanor finally began to crumble. He held her in his arms, crying bitterly. He walked into the room step by step.

The prepared cinnabar casket was placed right in the middle of the room, and Cerillo laid her down in the casket.

With what little consciousness Julissa had left, she felt Cerillo's hand holding her, trembling. A hot tear fell onto the hollow of her neck.

But now, she could no longer hear his whispers in her ear as he lay next to her. "Lissy, we'll always be together."
